In this project we had to create an idea or solution that would solve somebody in the community's problem. I choose my grandpa because he had a stroke and is not yet back to his full health. Since he was going to physical therapy he had sheets of exercises to do, but it was hard for him because he would have to memorize the paper or he had to keep looking back at it. So i made it easier for him by making a series of exercise videos to fit his needs. After i choose what my project was going to be i followed the design thinking steps to make my project better and more easier to understand. For the first step (empathy), i interviewed my aunty who was a doctor, my grandma who was the patient, and my uncle who is a physical therapist. They told me that i should talk and walk him through it in the video. The second step is define, my how might i sentence is how might i create an exercise video for my grandpa so he can do his exercises and get better balance. The third step is ideate i thought of my grandpa because his balance isn't so good because of his stroke. The fourth prototype is 1 prototype, after i finished my iMovie my grandpa said that it helped him and it was fun watching me in the video. The final step is Test/Feedback. He liked everything and that it was the perfect volume for him where he could hear. He said next time i should make them a little easier for next time. I built my final prototype by using an app called iMovie. I asked my brother to video me while i do all the exercises. This meets the users needs because he now practices the exercises almost daily. I do have a working prototype because the video does play and it is specific to my grandpas exercises. I learned from this project that prototypes take time and effort and if you don't put in the time it won't look good. So next time i do something like this i will start earlier so i don't procrastinate.
This is pictures of my final prototype, this is my exercise videos for my grandpa i am doing the shoulder supine flexion and the lower trunk rotations.
