We need questions to ask our users (the middle school students)

Design Thinking Steps
1. Empathy - We need to understand middle school students interests for shoes. Such as designs, patterns, and color.
We need questions to ask our users (the middle school students)
- What designs or things do you like about your current shoe brand?
- What specific shoe design do you like and why?
- What kind of laces do you want? Color, design and type of string? Why?
- If you could choose anything about your shoe design, what would you want on your shoe and why?
Make a Poster with our QR code.
We made a poster and the goal is to get other students to scan our QR code so they take our questionnaire and tell us what kind of shoe design they would like.
this is my poster
2. Define the problem
----- needs a way to ----- because he or she -----.
for group use this question
How might i -------?
In this sentence you should include the user and their need
How might we design a shoe that appeals to the general audience of middle school students?
How might we design a shoe that shows Hawaiian preservation for the middle school students?
How might i.....
User (the person(s) you are solving for = MS students
Need= a shoe that appeals to them

3. Ideate
Our questionnaire shows that most middle school students would like plants and nature as their design theme. My top three ideas are the ocean, taro, the aloha tower, these three ideas match what middle school students want because al three ideas are part of the plants and nature category.

4. Prototype #1 - create 2 paper prototypes of your top 2 ideas from your brainstorm in 20 minutes. It should be colorful and be able to get the idea across to a viewer.
Name of your shoe design idea: 'beach'
Description of the idea: I made things that you would usually find at the beach.
How it meets the needs of the user: The survey says that people like the beach design so thats what in put.

Iteration
Prototype #2: Choose the idea you want to continue with. It might even be a combination of the two or something totally different.
Name of your shoe design idea: Beach
Based on your feedback, What did you keep the same? What did you change? Why?
I kept everything the same but tried to color as much white as possible.
How it meets the needs of the user:
The user wanted a preserving Hawaii theme and a beach theme so i did both.
Feedback #2 you got:
Things that were suggested - To mold the beach and the wave together. (So all the drawings were in one big drawing).
Things that were liked - Same as first design.
What will you put on your final shoe design? What changes will you make based on your feedback and the final questionnaire results?
On our final show design we will make one big picture with a lot of color. We will change the waves to make just one big beautiful wave and will change the color of the laces to black.

Prototype #3- final paper prototype
Based on your feedback #2 and final questionnaire results, design the shoe that you will actually create. You are now restricted by the colors of fabric markers we have.
name of our shoe design;
'Beach'
What did you change in your design? Did you have to change colors?
I just had to change the colors of the palm tree to black instead of brown because we did not have that sharpie color.

For the final design we added more color and added more details such as the wave and the surf border guy.
What is the name of your design? Describe the design and how it fits into the Hawaii preservation theme. How does it meet the needs of the user?
